A day in Dublin / Jedan dan u Dablinu

Dublin.

Even before I was a flight attendant, Dublin has always been on my bucket list. It looked so beautiful on the pictures, in the movies and I couldn’t stop dreaming about it. What Ie really liked about Ireland in general where the people. Everybody told me they are very similar to us by temperament and in general. I needed to see that myself and make sure it is true.

Then, after I became a stewardess, Dublin was on my wishlist. Month after month, I wasn’t getting it on my roster (monthly schedule). It was always Asia, but almost never Europe. As I was deceiding to leave Abu Dhabi and flying, I got one more monthly schedule and one last chance to see Dublin. And guest what? I got it for my birthday and as my last flight in the company. Coincidence?

It couldn’t get any better. The flight to Dublin from Abu Dhabi is apx 7 hours and I remember it was overbooked. So, the Irish passengers really kept us busy as they drink a lot! The first thing I realised people were saying about them is true, they drink so much. We landed in Dublin with no alcohol left in the entire plane, and they were not even drunk 🙂 But they weren’t aggressive or anything, they were very happy and in a good mood.

After our check-in in the Double Tree by Hilton, a beautiful hotel near the city centre, I could wait to go and explore. Haven’t felt tired at all, just super excited.

As expected, Dublin is a beautiful city, full of history and tradition. What I loved the most is the architecture and how they take care of historical buildings. I could feel the history happened here. nd that is my favourite thing about travelling.

After many hours of walking and sightseeing, It was the perfect time to have a pint of Guinness and try it for the first time. I loved it so much! It’s creamy and almost like a desert 😉
What I noticed is that people of Dublin are very much relaxed and easy going. You could hear them laughing, singing (they sing a lot), especially after a few pints. Street singers and musicians are everywhere and they give a special vibe in the air. Everything is quite magical and cheerful.
Sadly, we didn’t have much time in Dublin, only about 30 hours, so I tried to take as much as I can from Dublin.

When I got back to Abu Dhabi, I realised where I’ve been and how lucky I was to get the chance to see Dublin, and to cross it off from my bucket list. It was just like imagined, even better. I know I’ll be going there again and to be honest, I can even see myself living there.
Till next destination,
Tanja

Dablin.

Pre nego sto sam postala stjuardesa, uvek me je privlacio Dablin i Irska.

Sleteli smo u Dablin bez kapi alkohola u citavom avionu, a putnici nisu bili cak ni pripiti vec samo veseli i raspolozeni.

Do sledeceg putovanja,

Tanja
